14 -curve o bend?-
Nota d'usoIl sostantivo curva può essere tradotto con “curve” o “bend”, a seconda dei contesti d'uso. Per indicare una curva sulla strada si preferisce in genere “bend”: La stazione di servizio è sulla curva, the petrol station is on the bend (non the petrol station is on the curve). In tutti gli altri contesti si utilizza la parola “curve”: La curva delle spese è la più alta sul grafico, the expenditure curve is the steepest one on the graph. In ambito sportivo, la curva allo stadio viene indicata con l'espressione “behind the goal”, o semplicemente con “end”: I nostri amici sono seduti nella curva, our friends are sitting behind the goal; curva della squadra di casa, home end; curva della squadra ospite, away end. -
